Using 1 stick of 32gb, with Expo I on at 5200Mhz (which by the way since I flashed the Bios to Beta 1003, trains and boots really fast now).īeen having pretty great performance. You’ll be glad to know I am just posting for your info today, not tech support ![]() One big exception was when the FBW Siimbridge app had some sort of memory leak and would be consuming 20% of my CPU (even when the sim was closed ) I would probably get just as much impact by changing my TLOD up or down by 20 counts. So I’ve always been rather dismissive of how much of an impact any of these have. I’ll have to look again next time I play, but collectively I seem to remember these adding up to less than 5% of my overall CPU load. Sim apps that I regularly have loaded and running concurrently are: Like I rarely see any of these apps consume more than a percent or two of CPU. Typically these items reported CPU usage are so miniscule, that I basically just ignore them when it comes to sim performance. I periodically check all of my external apps by monitoring their respective processes in Task Manager, and then sort based on CPU usage per process. Quite frankly, my Ryzen 5900x performance is still stellar so I have no dog in hunt here.Ī key element is all the other “stuff” simmers run along side the sim like FSLTL, FSTraffic, performance monitors, head tracking, video recorders, etc, etc that do utilize all of the additional cores. ![]() If few/no addons are used when running the sim then there is a good chance the 7800x3D will perform similar to the 7950x3D. While this is also true, a key element is all the other “stuff” simmers run along side the sim like FSLTL, FSTraffic, performance monitors, head tracking, video recorders, etc, etc that do utilize all of the additional cores. You can slice and dice the numbers a hundred different ways!īy the way, you mentioned that MSFS doesn’t use all the cores. As both are true it’s basically how you choose to look at it. However, the 89% increase from the 7800x3D quoted above is still true on a holistic level though. Ok, yes, if you look at it on a per core basis that’s true. 7950x3d should have a result of 790,14 GOPS to be on par (performance per core). So performance per core from the 7800x3d seems better when compared to the 7950x3d. ![]() It’s actually the other way around… sissoftware uses all the cores (which MSFS doesn’t).
